In a life woven with faith, service, and continual learning, Daniel W. Alt was born in 1946 into a Catholic household as the second eldest of ten. He began his career with a four-year tenure in the Air Force, which included a hard tour in Vietnam. He got married in 1968, and he and his wife brought up five daughters with a strong Catholic education.
In 1974, however, Alt underwent a radical change as a result of the charismatic renewal, and he began studying the Bible with an unfaltering passion. He began a home Bible study group at the age of 48, reflecting the communal ethos of early Christianity, and received an associate’s degree in refrigeration.
Having been ordained in the fall of 2018, Alt currently serves as pastor of a touring Bible study group and writes incisive commentary on Scripture. Writing from a place of rich experience, his most recent book offers timeless healing stories of Jesus and is sure to serve as a lighthouse of inspiration and hope for people struggling with the intricacies of everyday life.
